Explorations in Art, Spirit & Life

Welcome

These are my field notes — observations gathered from the landscapes of life and work. This is where art, soul, and lived experience intersect.
You’ll find poetry, imagery, reflections on energy and spirit, and the quiet documentation of a life being shaped with care. Read slowly. Take what resonates. Leave what doesn’t.
This space is for the curious, the contemplative, and the creatively alive. — Jess

it doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful… the it doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful…
the magic lives in the in-between — the undone, the messy, the real. In laughter that wasn’t planned, in moments that don’t always match the picture. Beauty isn’t in perfection — it’s in presence, in feeling, in being here for it all. 💋
All we ever truly have is this breath, this fleeti All we ever truly have is this breath, this fleeting, living moment in our hands—gone as quickly as it arrives. Time doesn’t wait, it dissolves, it moves, it becomes memory before we can even name it.

But this is where photography becomes something sacred.

It reaches into the passing moment and says, stay a little longer.
It holds the laughter mid-air, the glance that said everything, the love that needed no words.

We cannot keep time—but we can honour it.
We can preserve the feeling, the evidence that we were here, that we lived, that we loved.

And sometimes… that is everything.

A thought appears. Then another. A feeling rises. A thought appears. Then another.
A feeling rises. Then shifts.
A memory brushes against the present and suddenly you’re somewhere in between who you were and who you’re becoming.

This is the space most people try to skip.

But this is where truth lives.

Reflection asks you to look—gently, honestly—at what is.
Curiosity invites you to explore it without judgment.
And surrender… surrender is what allows it to move, to evolve, to become something new.

Not everything needs to be defined right away.
Not every emotion needs a conclusion.
Sometimes the most profound thing you can do is follow the thread… and trust where it leads.

✍🏻 to be continued …
Melancholy isn’t depression—one observes, the othe Melancholy isn’t depression—one observes, the other consumes.

Melancholy sits with the ache, listens, shapes it. It asks you to feel without disappearing inside the feeling.

The world’s most unforgettable art was born here—by those who dared to alchemize their melancholy into something that could be seen, felt, remembered.

So the question isn’t how to escape it…
but what you’re willing to create from it????
